About Radha Institute For Mentally Retarded

Every Individual has a right to develop to his/her physical and mental capabilites.It is with this spirit that tha Radha Institute for Mentally challenged was started in the year 1974 and got Registered in 1977.

Since then the Institute is catering to the needs of mentally Challenged children with deep devotion and dedication.

This is the first Institute in the State of Andhra Pradesh. to initiate pre-vocational and vocational training programme for the Mentally challenged persons.

Now institute is Maintaing ny Mr. Madiraju ,Surendar Rao (High court advocate).

The Institute is located by HUDA in 1984,at Kothapeta Xroad of Hyderabad city. There are 63 students and 14 Trained teachers at Present.

The main objectives of this Institute are :

1) To facilitate the Mentally challenged Children to grow according to his/her mental ability and capability.
2) To import Training in Particular areas like perception, self-help kills,social academic,occupational are recreational activities.
3) To promote pre-vocational and vocational training, sheltered work-shops and employment opportunities.
4) To help acquire knowlede, be familiar with behavioral etiquecies ,gain proficiency in communication skill,aimed at all-round personality development.

Our facilities :

Special Education is imparted to th pupils as per modem curriculem ,with necessary modifications to suite the situation. Individual care taken according to the needs of the pupil.Team work is encouraged and group activites are preferred too individual ones.

Our Vocational Trainings :

Vocational trainings Infile Making ,Envelop Making. Candle Making, Pop corn Making, Manufacturing phynol ,Surf, Sabina are given.

Tailoring, Gardening, Screen printing, Hand embroidery trainings are imparted by trained instructors.Tehse are intended to make children proficient in any vocation and gain self confidence.

Students are encouraged to participate in cultural activites so that their inherent talents are explored and exhibited .Games are conducted on several occasions to boost the spirit of pupils and prizes are also distributed.

Our Students won prozes in competitions conducted by other organizations also one of our students participated the international games competition held in China last year.

Future Plans :

1) To initiate an early intervention center that caters to the needs of children form the age of 1 to 13 years.
2) To expand vocational unit.
3) To setup sports and recreation unit.
4) To start computer aided training.
5) To provide hostal facility for the boy students.
6) To construct a big Hospital for Mentally Challenged ,Physically handicapped & Visual handicaped.
7) To open education Institute institutes for mental ,physical & vise versa .

Our aim is to install self-confidence inmentally challenged children to face any situation couageously and lead a purposeful prosperous life like any other normal individual.wenblive it is better to give these children a helping hands with sympathy and compassion ,instead of just showing pity.
